Role Description:
The role of a Civil Technician Level 3 (CT3) is to engage in construction, installation, and repair of structures and fixtures. The CT3 reports directly to the Construction Technician 4 (CT4) if part of a large crew and to Construction Supervisor if running a small 2-man crew. When running a small crew the CT3 determines the work needed to be performed on the jobsite on a daily basis; selects materials and structural units and inspects them to ensure conformance with provisions of building code and local ordinance; determines sequence of activities needed and communicates them with the crew.

Responsibilities:

• Proficient and willing to perform all duties of the Construction Technician 2
• Perform cabinet installation
• Possess active climbing certificates and assist CT4 in leading tower erection and RF / plumbing installation including all climbing
• Be proficient in all site paperwork / turnover documentation
• Be proficient in various cell site testing equipment
• To have knowledge of standards /guidelines for installation by both company and client standards (pathing, grounding and electrical)
• Connect power and Telco from utility to cabinets
• Complete site photo logs / picture requirements
• Perform all work per site drawings, permits and building codes
• Perform site prep for setting piers for platforms, pouring slabs, setting prefab slabs
• Run conduit in trenches for power, Telco and possible RF
• Troubleshoot and repair site deficiencies (cabinet, lines, antennas, integrated equipment)
• Install and connect ground rings
• Perform ground tests
• Perform antenna electrical tilt / RET programming

Qualifications:

• Ability to travel as required
• Comfortable in self-directed environment
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as zoning and construction drawings, bids, and leases
• Proficient in various cell site testing equipment
• Ability to write coherent and succinct status/progress reports
• Proficient in Microsoft Office - Excel, Work, Project, Outlook
• Understanding of e-mail and the Internet
• Ability to lift an excess of 50 pounds

Education & Experience:

• Associates degree preferred.
• Thirty-six months plus experience with telecommunications construction.
• A Contractor's License is a plus.
