Overview:
Company is in search of AC/DC Power Technicians very experienced in telecommunication applications.

Labor activities to include:
All loading of equip/material at warehouse, set up of tools and material on job site per SOW, daily clean up of job site prior to departure, antenna mounting, RF plumbing and Coax installation, platform building, antenna mounting, RF plumbing and Coax installation, Boom or man lift operation, cement pouring, block wall building, electrical installation, power plant installation, tenant room improvements, excavating, trenching, framing, electrical, tower erection, cement pouring, block wall building, equipment integration and testing, supervision of all of the above and assisting all other team members as necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Always act in a safe manor following all safety standards. Report any violations to the Construction Foreman.
• Perform all work per site drawings, permits and building codes.
• Assist in all Civil and Mechanical duties per site Foreman's instructions
• Removal of all expired equipment and prepares earth, TI, and rooftop for new equipment.
• Dig trenches as found necessary for new power runs.
• Perform daily and final site clean-up.
• Set power equipment per client specs, NEC, and IBC requirements.
• Run power cables for rectifiers, power plants, and ancillary equipment.
• Perform all necessary grounding of equipment, installation of buss bars, and earth probing per site grounding specs.
• Label, tag, lace, and dress all power cables per client specs providing for proper service loop, connectivity, shrink wrap, marking, and fastening.
• Install and connect ground rings.
• Test all new equipment and lines to customer manufacturer specifications.

Qualifications:

• Candidate should have strong work experience with external Outside Plant (OSP) RF Bulk Power rectifier and systems as well as wireless cell site battery back-up power plants.
• Applicant should be well versed within internal Local Exchange Carrier (LEC) power systems and/or equipment and wireless switching center back-up systems.
• Candidates with Photovoltaic Cell / Fuel Cell green experience with a strong solar commercial background preferred
• Working knowledge of AT&T TP-76300 documentation and practices
• Proficient with procurement and installation of power rectifier replacement and equipment
• VRLA, NiCad, and flooded battery installations, replacements, programmable logic, testing, and alarming
• Converters, inverters, and system installations and configurations
• Experienced at upgrading remote terminals – air conditioning & air monitoring
• Live DC power plant cut-over's and change-outs for LEC and OSP applications
• Floor testing, preparation, and seismic- 4 bracing of metal racks and stands
• Talented at DC ancillary equipment requirements including power cables, equipment, compression terminals, and termination bars
• Alternative Energy Fuel Cell Integration and Testing
• Solar PV systems including assessment, design, solution, installation, and integration
• Ability to travel as required
• Comfortable in self-directed environment
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as zoning and construction drawings, bids, and leases
• Ability to write coherent and succinct updates on deployment progress
• Proficient in Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, Project, Outlook
• Understanding of e-mail and the Internet

Education & Experience:

• Associates degree preferred
• Five years of telecommunications construction experience
• Battery disposal certification a plus
• Hazmat transportation certification a plus
• C-10 journeyman card desired
• OSHA 30 certification a plus
• A Contractor's License is a plus.
